Trailblazer Ellen Young – the first Asian American woman elected to the NYS legislature and the first female Asian NYPD Auxiliary Police Officer in Queens – will hold a press conference and rally with supporters and community leaders on the steps of the Queens Public Library to officially declare her candidacy for the 20th NYC Council District.
Ellen has raised $60,000 in only one month, demonstrating her strong support in the community she previously represented as a NYS Assembly Member. She will be joined by several community leaders who will testify to Ellen's experience and bold leadership.

杨爱伦（Ellen Young，），美国首位女性亚裔州众议员。杨爱伦祖籍广东，从小生长在台湾省的部队家属大院，1977年只身来到美国。此后在美国的经历是当年年轻的爱伦完全没有想到的。离婚、再婚、家庭暴力、车祸、忧郁症接踵而至，重重磨炼让她最终学会“不自怜、不自悯，靠自己站起来，停止哭泣；学会寻找解决问题的方法，学会自救后帮助别人。”30年来，她在社区做义工超过28年，即便是怀有身孕时也没有停止。
杨爱伦众议员任内骑脚踏车时差点被汽车撞死，但在短短一年半期间通过五条法律创下新科议员记录，并担任代理议长，成为同期议员之魁，倍受瞩目。卸任后的20年，杨爱伦首次走入大学校园，在纽约圣若望大学亚洲研究所攻读首个学位，2012年以全A成绩和「完美学术院长奖」荣誉获颁硕士学位，并于毕业前一年荣获纽约州最高法院任命成为首位亚裔「律师惩戒委员会」的委员，且于2013年创办「基督教角声金龄学苑」兼任校长，持续不断帮助新移民、老人及弱势族群。2020年美国爆发疫情，她没有閒著，率先募集数十万件珍贵的防疫物资，持续分赠社区各单位获得佳评。她严厉批评交通局硬性关闭法拉盛缅街，禁行私家车的新规，是未曾考虑当地老弱病残出入家门及小商家的生存空间，更不该24小时持续施行。她亦批评卫生局疫苗分配不均，故意忽视法拉盛多次成为红色疫区的困境，因此投入选战，誓言若当选法拉盛市议员她将为华人社区发声，争取公平公正的权益。
虽比其他候选人晚三个月加入选战，竞选显得举步维艰，却获得亲朋好友社区民众的热烈支持，募款成绩极佳，捐款帐户成立的第五天已在网上收到36笔总数$7950的捐款。她需要累积150位捐款人总数$5000来自第20选区内的捐款，总数$5000来自选区内的捐款，才可获得所有来自纽约市捐款的匹配资金，即是$1 ：$8，她呼吁同胞们请继续帮助她达成目标，取得参选资格，她将竭尽所能做一个令人您自豪的市议员。捐款连结：
