Self-introduction:

My name is Nancy Jin and I am 20 years old. I am currently a third-year student at Northeastern University and pursuing my bachelors in health science and psychology. I grew up dancing ballet and Chinese cultural dance and have seven years of experience. I also performed in various arenas and have participated in the nutcracker. I also grew up swimming starting in elementary school continuing through high school where I joined the swim team and have competed in many races and won several awards. Playing instruments was also a big part of my life. I played the violin, clarinet, piano, recorder, and sang for several years.

To learn Chinese, I attended Chinese school every Sunday from second grade to the end of high school where I also learned yoyo, took art classes, and eventually became a teacher’s assistant for Chinese and Chinese yoyo. I also performed Chinese yoyo throughout high school. I was awarded for being an excellent teacher’s assistant who cared about the students and was dedicated to teaching my senior year. In high school, I discovered ceramics and black and white photography which I enjoyed. I also was on the swim, cross country, and frisbee team throughout high school. I became a captain of the frisbee team my senior year in high school. I received an award called the global literacy certificate in which I volunteered in China teaching little kids English.

Sports has and is a big part of my life and I am currently on the Northeastern Valkyries Ultimate Frisbee A-Team where we made it to College Nationals my freshman year of college. We won a tournament called Centex in Texas my freshman year. In my senior year of high school summer, I tried out for the Boston Ultimate Disc Alliance team and entered the team to represent Boston. I also enjoy snowboarding, skiing, sailing, and know how to sail six different boats, running, and working out. Having a healthy, active lifestyle is important to me. Furthermore, modeling has also been a passion of mine as I have been in two fashion shows and have modeled for twilight image studio. I am excited to continue this part of my interest and am really thankful for this opportunity charity event. I am looking forward to meeting everyone!
