Assemblyman Edward Braunstein Endorses Sandra Ung For City Council
FLUSHING, N.Y. —
Today, Assemblyman Edward Braunstein endorsed Sandra Ung for City Council in District 20, which overlaps with the 26th Assembly District. The Assemblyman cited Sandra's long standing experience in public service and non-profit law as reasons for the endorsement.
With this endorsement, Sandra Ung has secured the support of nearly all local elected officials, including Congresswoman Grace Meng, Councilmember Peter Koo, and Assemblywoman Nily Rozic. She also has the support of Assemblywoman Catalina Cruz, Councilmembers Carlina Rivera, Justin Brannan and Costa Constantinides.
"Through her years of experience in public service and non-profit advocacy in New York City, Sandra Ung has demonstrated a clear dedication to bettering the lives of local families. I am proud to endorse Sandra for City Council with the knowledge that she will be a strong voice for the Flushing community at City Hall."
Sandra Ung said, "I am proud and humbled by the Assemblyman's endorsement. The Assemblyman has been a strong advocate for homeowners in our district through his work advocating for equity in property taxes, and I look forward to working with him to protect homeowners' rights and interests if elected to City Council."
Sandra Ung has called for a freeze on property taxes in light of the pandemic and to allow for homeowners to pay their property taxes in installments as they recover from the economic devastation of COVID-19. Sandra has also called for the penalty on late payment of property taxes to be waived for the duration of the pandemic.
With these endorsements, Sandra is now the only candidate positioned to deliver real, tangible results for District 20. Endorsements like these mean that candidates have the relationships necessary to build coalitions of support across local, state and federal government to pass legislation. As a lifelong public servant who has worked both in nonprofits and in government, Sandra is also the only candidate that has the experience to navigate the government process.
